![]() I did manage to find somewhere within the extension where they mention the Desktop app, but it stills redirect me instantly to the extension chrome page. I am using a the french interface so maybe the is some kind of bug in the redirection.Īaaannnnddd. But I can't seem to find the page your screenshot refers to :/ I actually use both the extension and the client. (The mobile app still seems to be more regularly updated, I'll give 'em this.) I've no reason to doubt Dashlane on the security side (Which would be the most obvious deal-breaker.), but QoL features and UX are still very important aspects of a software product, all the more a paid subscription one. Meanwhile, some bugs and deficiencies that have been around for years still persist. This may matter to a portion of the user base, but it's obviously not the most important aspect of a password managing software. ![]() And the last major update I can recall was the change of logo design and interface colors. From the end of 2019 onwards, I feel like the desktop client has been updated twice, if not less. Not all were feature-rich, but they were regular. Until about last year, it used to roll out frequent updates. I've been using Dashlane for some 3-odd years. Regardless, I'll say this: the devs don't seem to be paying the same level of attention they once did, specially to the desktop client. The reason doesn't matter, you should be the one to choose.) Still, again, the choice should be yours: perhaps you feel running both would tax your machine too much or something. And it definitely is an inferior experience than having the client and extension working together. ![]() I once had to use my extension on Standalone mode for a while, due to some Chromium-related bugs. If you look at the options for the Chrome extension, you'll see the "Desktop" mode is default, even though "Standalone" is available. (Also, if you're wondering why they'd offer the desktop client after the Chrome extension: it's because they're designed to work in tandem. I dislike this approach of guiding you towards one version or the other, instead of displaying all options and letting you pick, but I guess the devs must've felt it's more intuitive this way. Is this what you see when you try to download it? If so, the desktop download link is down there. ![]()
